Görüşmede Davutoğlu, İslam dünyasının bugün içinde bulunduğu çeşitli sorunlar olduğunu, bunların da açıklık ve şeffaflık çerçevesinde ele alınmasının yararlı olacağında birçok kişinin mutabık olduğunu söyledi. Ahmedinejad da bu konudaki görüşlerini aktardı.

Arap Baharı'na ilişkin gelişmelerden bahseden Davutoğlu, Mısır'daki yeni hükümete dikkati çekti.

Görüşmede, Davutoğlu ve Ahmedinejad, Suriye konusunda da görüş alışverişinde bulundu.

Davutoğlu, Esed rejimine Arap Baharı başladığından beri Türkiye'nin yaptığı telkinleri aktardı. Türkiye'nin Suriye halkının yanında yer aldığını belirten Davutoğlu, Türkiye-Mısır ve İran arasında Kahire'de yapılan toplantıyı övdü.

Davutoğlu, Suriye'de kanın durması için İran'ın da nüfuzunu kullanmasını beklediklerini, son Kahire toplantısının da bu çerçevede yararlı bir adım olduğuna inandıklarını kaydetti.

Ahmedinejad da Suriye'de akan kanın durmasını arzu ettiklerini, bu konuda çaba harcadıklarını ve harcamaya devam edeceklerini söyledi.

-'Açıklamalar hissiyatımızı yansıtmıyor' mesajı-

Edinilen bilgiye göre, görüşmede Türk-İran işbirliğinin çok önemli olduğu hususunda iki taraf da mutabık kaldı. Bu çerçevede, Davutoğlu terörle mücadele konusunu da gündeme getirdi.

Davutoğlu, ayrıca son dönemde bazı İranlı yetkililer tarafından yapılan açıklamaları hatırlatarak, bu açıklamalardan Türkiye'nin duyduğu rahatsızlığı aktardı. Ahmedinejad da, İran'ın ve bizzat kendisinin Türkiye ile ilişkilere çok önem verdiğini belirterek, bu yapılan açıklamaların İran'ın tutumunu ve kendilerinin hissiyatını yansıtmağını kaydetti. Ahmedinejad, ancak kendisi, meclis başkanı, dışişleri bakanı gibi yetkililerin açıklamalarının İran'ı temsil eden açıklamalar olduğuna dikkati çekti.

Görüşmede Davutoğlu, Myanmar'ı ziyareti hakkında bilgi verdi, Somali'deki durum ve Türkiye'nin yardımlarından da bahsetti.

BM Genel Kurulu çerçevesinde Sudan ve Güney Sudan Dışişleri Bakanlarıyla yaptığı görüşmeleri aktaran Davutoğlu, her iki ülkenin de içinde bulunduğu durumla ilgili değerlendirmeler yapıldığından bahsetti.
