Solar-powered CPU Pentium

Only the size of a postage stamp, a processor that runs on energy provided by the solar panel, was created by Intel. The processor definition is only a small solar panel energy played in Quake shown.

Pentium-class processor, code-named Claremont, 10mW'dan low-power run, to run on Linux and Windows. Power saving, very close to the threshold level of energy to run a pass transistors. Threshold level, the transistor becomes active which means that the voltage and today's processors, a few floors above the level of the threshold voltages are trying to perform.

Claremont is a prototype processor running 5 times the energy close to the threshold level can provide energy savings. We consider that this is a technology presentation of the product is produced from the start an energy-saving efficiency can be increased at a greater rate.

Processors, such as the production of a plan is not available at this time, but eventually the inevitable emergence of low-power processors.
